I do not believe there to be a better place to spend your weekends than the Riverside Arts Market in the fall here in Jacksonville, FL. I know that many people have football games to attend or soccer or lacrosse. Those are great places to see neighbors, meet new friends, and help kids become more acclimated to life’s lessons. Don’t get me wrong, they have a great place in life. But to me, with my husband, Jack, and my two dogs, Sally and Stella, there is really no better place to be during a weekend. Riverside Arts Market in the fall down by the river in the sun, taking in the vendors, the theme of the week and the band. I would recommend you experience Riverside Arts Market in the fall, some time soon!
Riverside Arts Market in the fall
Never heard of Riverside Arts Market? Well, let’s fix this for you. The link to the Riverside Arts Market takes the user to the main site. There you can learn more about each weekend’s theme. What is a theme? Well, one weekend its all about dogs, or yoga, the theme each weekend is different. Sometimes, they also have beer tastings when you are guaranteed to see a lot of residents of Riverside Avondale and all over Jacksonville. The best thing about each themed weekend is that they all come with vendors and activities for the patrons. The Dog theme is bound to have lots of treats for your four legged best friend. Most of the “themed” vendors are located on the north side of the market, with the regular vendors located toward the south side of the market.
Fresh Garden Items
Most of the regular vendors are from Northeast Florida farms. Here at Riverside Arts Market in the fall, you will find quite an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables. Those in season as well as Honey, Salts, Rubs, Bread, and even your pumpkin for your Halloween event. The produce is always fresh and most vendors will run out of their items in a few hours. Now going into its 7th year, it was voted as one of the best things to do in Jacksonville. Where else can you get Hickory smoked roasted peanuts?
Some of the regular vendors are jewelry makers as well as people who make great designs out of old pallets. Items for your inside or outside are found at Riverside Arts Market. Walking through the layout, there are essentially 4 aisles that comprise of about 60-70 tents each weekend. Then there are the food vendors, located closest to the river. Brick oven fired pizzas, kabobs, all this makes my mouth water. Once you get to the food vendors, you are close to the main stage where there is always a great assortment of musicians every weekend. So its a great way to see new talent and listen to some great tunes, while you eat, shop or browse. Now is the time to get out and enjoy Riverside Arts Market in the fall. My favorite time of the year in Jacksonville.
